What made you feel embarrassed today
You see this girl?
If you don’t recognize her she’s Lindsey Stirling, a violinist/actress. I like some of her music but my sister liked her over the top. One day my sister was watching a YouTube video on Stirling and I watched for a few seconds over her shoulder.
Stirling was at an America’s Got Talent, and did a violin/dance performance. This is in front of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people. When she finished she faced one judge, an ugly fuck, who went on to tell her that she was dumb and no one would like her stuff. He went so far as to call her “annoying”.
Now I’m not Stirling’s biggest fan. She’s a little too over the top for me. But these judges just went off on her far more than necessary. There’s constructive criticism and then there’s this and this was just absolute disgraceful.
And Lindsey just stood there and smiled. She’s being insulted in front of hundreds of thousands, video taped as well and she doesn’t let the pain show.
I was amazed by this. As with everything I ask what I would do in that situation. My first response would’ve been to tell the judges to hire a better plumber because clearly they had shit for brains.
I walked away feeling so embarrassed for Lindsey. No one should be disparaged like that.
To be fair she proved them wrong. She has an extremely popular YouTube channel, has released multiple albums and is currently touring. Those judges only fueled her drive. And I salute her for that. You go girl.
My gratitude to Ethan Shore for sharing this story.
